Meet the Doulas & Assistants
Star Davidson
Dona International Certified Birth Doula
Star is a certified birth doula through DONA international. Having three babies of her own, Star experienced a different kind of birth with each delivery but felt empowered and supported by midwives and doulas with all of them. These experiences, along with supporting friends and family in their birth journeys, led her to wanting to support others and help them have the beautiful experiences she did. Star believes birth is such an incredible and sacred time for mother and baby and having the right people around you is so important. She will be there to support whatever kind of birth you desire. Every woman and birth story is unique and Star would love to be a part of your journey!
Star lives on thirteen acres in Pegram, TN with her husband and three children. They homeschool, have a small farm with goats and chickens, and a few local Airbnbs. Star loves all things crunchy and natural but also strongly believes in balance and the positive effects of reducing stress in your life and savoring every little joy that comes along. She has always been known for her calm and peaceful spirit and loves to create a safe space to nurture those around her.
Hope Post
Midwifery Student, Doula and Midwifery Assistant
My name is Hope and I am a trained birth doula. I live in Nashville, Tennessee and I am a midwifery student with Mercy In Action College of Midwifery where I am working on achieving my goal of becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. I completed my doula training as well as a childbirth course with Blissful Birthing, Pregnancy and Birth Planning.
I am assisting midwives and doing doula work because I am eager to get lots of experience and because I have a heart to serve women. Every woman deserves a compassionate, knowledgeable, and reliable birth team as well as a safe, informed, and loving birth.
After I graduated high school, I became interested in birth work and started learning as much as I could. I talked to midwives and doulas and their passion became my passion. I saw the need for holistic, knowledgeable, reliable, and loving midwives in the community and realized that I could make a difference. My goal is to serve, educate, and empower women so that they can feel confident and capable during their pregnancy and birth.
Danielle Snelling
Midwifery Student, Doula and Midwifery Assistant
I'm currently a student midwife, but no stranger to the childbirth world, being both a midwifery assistant and doula for over eight years. I’m very passionate about providing quality education and care to all mothers and enjoy taking the time to get to know my mothers as individuals. This allows me to provide the best personalized emotional and physical care to them. I believe pregnancy and birth can be a healing and revealing experience. The spiritual and emotional side of pregnancy and birth should not be ignored because when a baby is born, a mother is born as well. Both deserve to be brought into this new phase of life with love and support. Outside of being a birth worker, I’m a proud mother of three beautiful children, a placenta encapsulation specialist (info on Services Page), and a certified yoga instructor, providing expecting mothers prenatal yoga classes, sound healing, and life coaching. I look forward to serving you.
Taylor Dorn
Midwifery Student, Registered Nurse
My love for empowering women and supporting them began during my internship in Tanzania. It was in this setting that I was first introduced to birth and the incredible abilities of the human body. I continued my journey in nursing school where I've spend the last 6 years in the ER and ICU. This work has taught me the importance of education and prevention as I cared for many different people in many different situations. After having my son at home with two incredible midwives my passion for birth and supporting women was ignited again. This lending me the chance to begin midwifery school and working with Amma Birth Services.
In my free time I love chasing around my energetic and hilarious 1 year old son, going on long walks, and being outside as much as possible. My husband recently talked me into trying cold plunging, which I'm learning to enjoy, especially after yoga or family dance parties to warm me up!
